A Diseased Narrative

A Diseased Narrative COVID and the undermining of life Omar S. Khan 3 days ago · 13 min read Photo by J ohn Crozier  on  Unsplash We are living through a bizarre brew of ignominy… fact-free, “science ascribed” panic peddling, usurping of civil liberties, mandated bankruptcies and deferred care, a resurgence of once under control diseases, mass poverty inflicted on populations, educational catastrophe with all kinds of local and global social ripple effects. This is a “prescription” never applied to any contagion in living memory, not to wars, to acts of terrorism, or natural disasters, in any sustained way. It has required overturning   public health wisdom that had been institutionalized for decades if not centuries in some cases, and the asserting of the right of the executive authority to invade the private realm with no legislative debate or justification. And so let’s just follow the bread crumbs of this weird narrative, which would have been considered implau...

Coke Woke: Why Is America’s Favorite Fizzy Drink Lecturing Employees to ‘Be Less White’?

Coke Woke: Why Is America’s Favorite Fizzy Drink Lecturing Employees to ‘Be Less White’? Robert Bridge Instead of having the good sense to understand the dangers of embracing and propagating bigoted myths about an entire race of people, the management at Coca-Cola seem to have embraced it. A whistleblower inside of the Coca-Cola Company has revealed the shocking bullet points of a training seminar that expounds the racist idea that character traits allegedly inherent to the pale face tribe – like oppressiveness, arrogance and lack of apathy – should be rejected. Has corporate America finally crossed the line of acceptability? In these crazed days of hyper political correctness, when it is verboten to point out the physical differences between racial groups, to the point where ‘cultural appropriation’ is actually a thing, it is hard to imagine that one of America’s largest transnational corporations would promote stereotypes against the approximately 50 percent of people on the pl...

The Collapse of The Enlightenment

The Collapse of The Enlightenment We a re watching the Enlightenment collapse before us in real time. I’ll be fairly brief in my explanation of why this is so and how it came about, but it strikes me  as something we should  understand. Bear in mind that  what remains of the  Enlightenment is collapsing for structural reasons. I  haven’t formed this discourse around  political or academic theories, I’m basing it on facts and  direct  observations.  Obviously I’m simplifying (one can’t write history any other way), but minus the inevitable exceptions and complications, this is what happened and what  i s happening. How The Enlightenment Gained A Structure The Enlightenment began  with  a collection of outsiders studying science.  They had little  backing  and few  credentials. In fact, the motto of the first group ( that became  The Royal Society) was  Nullius in verba: “ Take nobody’s word f...
